Ian Cooper

Ian is a seasoned professional in sports and leisure management, combining strategic insights and project management expertise to spearhead key projects at Ardent Sports.

After studying sports and business at the University of Central Lancashire, Ian embarked on a 15-year career with Virgin Active. Transitioning from corporate to consultancy, Ian took on pivotal roles in various global projects, from Dubai to New Zealand and Australia. Through his consultancy firm, Ian advised on sports and leisure projects, including virtual reality parks and integrated sports facilities.

At Ardent, Ian oversees projects from conception to execution, specialising in bespoke sporting facilities and academies. His approach is defined by a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of clients’ unique needs, positioning Ardent as an extension of the client to ensure that each facility not only meets operational requirements, but also enhances community engagement and player performance.
